Yes, so I was trying to make a lava effect using fluorescent red/yellow under black. Well not under under, but in the cracks between patches of black. First up we have a ‘lava field’
I tried using clear tar gel to make the black transparent, although that did not work out super well. Then I tried some yellow in between layers. The actual yellow/red cracks worked out, but the patches felt too uniform and large.
Yeah, a bit full-on, but I had a vision of a coal-like heart with cracks at different scales. For some reason I started on graph paper and used coloured pencil, then acrylic (and clear gel) on top.
Shame really, that I didn’t use better paper, as I quite like it. Not quite what I imagined, as I wanted a 3D looking heart, and somehow very rounded. Not sure how I would achieve that in black!
