A timely reference. So for some reason I wanted to try a larger scale for the same patern. Actually I remember the reason now - I wondered if a larger scale would show up variation more in the colour.
This is on gesso again, but on an A5 board instead of paper. The pencil lines looks a little broken on the gesso. Not terrible but maybe not great.
Clear tar gel does allow the underlying gesso to come through, however it also leads to ‘clumping’ of the paint. Could have more ‘designed’ variation in the transparency, such as consistently more at one end of the shape and not the other. Might also need to use less clear tar gel and have more colour in the mix!
