Well ok, so the background is that I was reading about using CMY(K) colours for painting. Apparently some artists have tried using layers of cyan, magenta, and yellow to make paintings like a printer.
So I’m not skilled or patient enough to do that, but I can mess around with these colours using varnish! So I did:
This is the freshly finished piece, or - well - freshly first attempt finished. It’s very shiny as you can see from the reflection of the side lamp. Its layers structure is: {cyan+matt gloss/varnish/yellow+gloss/varnish/red+gloss/varnish/cyan }. The final cyan acrylic layer was ‘pure’.
Of course. I added in some more layers of colour, and messed with it some more. This adjusted it a little, and the final look is this:
Which is a little subtler than before? I quite like it, it’s cute. Maybe not much interesting structure. Still.
