Yes, this is yet another attempt at the one with the tiny triangles. It definitely got closer this time, as I took more time to get the geometry right. Also it’s a larger patch of tiling so the central part is more constrained.
There was a little fiddling required to get the tiling right for the size of the canvas.
After colouring the shapes with watercolour pencil to help with adjusting the geometry, I painted fully with rose and gum arabic for the largest parts. This was a bit too pink, and clashed somewhat with the green. So I used the same yellow for the triangles to harmonise the green and rose sections.
Overall it’s nice, especially the shell-like effect with the mixture of rose and yellow (thus orange) where the gum arabic that I put in the rose mixed unevenly with the yellow. Hard to see in a photo, as always.
