I was trying to cover a gessoed A5 canvas board with a background of black acrylic but as always it was not sticking to the gesso. So I covered in the ortho… the right angles direction with magenta red. Then black then red. Eventually it looked something like this:
Kinda wacky with it. But then it became realer.
Well reader, I poured red wine on it just to see what would happen. No wait, first I had varnished it, then I was washing off some dust from the varnish and I was drinking some wine so I thought wine..not? Ohohoh.
Anyway, the picture really doesn’t show it (none of my terrible photos in any lighting show anything with this one) but here is the layer of wine:
Hard to see, but there is a layer of liquid on top. So I let that evaporate (twice) and varnished on top again. Not really worth it artistically but gave me a laugh :)
