Indeed, a slightly silly one this, although perhaps not as much as the grass block one. Anyway, feeling creative after the previous (boring) one I tried my hand at a quick sketch of a Minecraft ‘landscape’:
It only took 10 mins to sketch and maybe twice that to paint, so this is truly off-the-cuff but I think it’s quite good for what it is. I was trying to capture the whole experience of going from the top of the mountains down through a crevice in the ground to the caverns and then the depths. The lava came out ok, although I’m not sure I got the sculk quite right - it’s a mixture of black with green dots which did not come across very well in this medium.
Also the different shades of grey for the rocks would need some work. Not sure whether cave systems through the ‘slice’ would make it better, and surely torches would be essential for any true Minecraft experience. That said, there are also no mobs anywhere, so it’s a bit empty.
Fun, but not exactly Turner rofl.
