Ok, likely the last for a while, for a couple of reasons - firstly, I’ve done a few now, and it’s time to move on; secondly, it’s a bit of a pain to work with nail varnish as it’s thick and needs acetone to clean. This time I thought it looked a little lumpy when dry, so I attempted to sand it, with poor results:
Basically, the particles of sanded-off paint stuck to the rest of the paper, and made this mess.
Cleaning this up went in slightly the wrong direction when I tried using the ‘slurry’ of polish dissolved in acetone from my wash pot - esentially a very dilute polish solution. This made the paper pink, although at least a uniform colour! So I then painted over with white gouache, and outlined the shapes in black ink:
Although the photo does not show it, the pink still shows through if the paper is held up to the light! Ho hum.
