Is that a question? Well anyway it was an idea I had for some reason. I bought the first one I saw (Rimmel London Super Gel in a dark red/purple). Then I tried it out on an Orosi pattern, and it worked ok:
However I learned some lessons with this first one - use nail polish remover (acetone/dimethylketone/CC(=O)C etc), obviously. Also it is (of course) very thick and dries fast so quite difficult to work with. Naturally I tried again.
One major problem with the Orosi one was the small triangles - at this scale, they needed more care to get them right (I did not!) so I picked a pattern with more even element sizes. This one:
So it went better, but still does not have the effect I intended (looking like it does on a nail, I suppose). The more layers put on, the darker it gets. Maybe a lighter shade? Or just use acrylic mediums …
