So I have a construction path for the Orosi pattern in a standard way (?) but wanted to make things more difficult for myself! What I was attempting was to deconstruct the ‘minimal’ part of the pattern - the ‘unit cell’ if you like - to try and get the compass and straight edge version. Here is what my notebook looked like:
Which involved some experience, combined with a lot of experimentation and guessing.
Then I made a triptych out of the pattern-construction-final style thing:
I think it looks very nice. Tried to find a suitable frame, but could only get this A4 sized one. It’s ok, but would have preferred a slightly better ratio. Or border, or whatever.
