So I decided to ‘challenge’ myself by drawing an A3 example. Since A4 designs have taken as much as 30 hrs (over a long weekend), I thought that it might take double that. The geometry I picked was one of the simplest - the ones I started out with back in Febuary 2022.
Just drawing this alone - drawing lines, marking points, erasing, thickening, erasing, redrawing, etc - took 12 days of elapsed time, and maybe 36 hrs of actual time over that period.
Thankfully painting did not take as long, as it was 7 days elapsed but less hours over that time. At a guess only 10-15 or so. Hmm, so maybe total around twice the time.
The final thing is that the end product is not really that amazing! I quite like the alternating green/blue of the weave, and there are not too many errors in the geometry. What a slog though…
