Well, that depends on what floats your boat, as it were. Anyway, I was finding using compasses both inaccurate (for small circles) and repetitive. So I found some circle templates!
They go from 2mm to 34mm on one template and up to 55mm on the other. Quite a range, although they probably cannot replace a compass for everything.
So I immediately set out to experiment with what these could do. Here are some examples:
Essentially these are just overlapping or touching circles in some way. However, it is so easy to make them!
A more developed example is based on one I saw on a bridge over the Regents Canal near London Zoo:
